History of the Hankey Local Area Service
The Hankey Local Area Service shown here on the map within the enclosed dark green line is located on Pleasant Valley Road extending from Pleasant Valley Cross Road south to 1448 Pleasant Valley Road. The Hankey Water System receives bulk water from the City of Armstrong and the Township of Spallumcheen supplies users domestic water only to approximately 7 properties.
The Hankey Waterworks District dissolved to the Township on December 31, 1995. The original Letters Patent creating the district were issued by the Province on October 15, 1935 and can be viewed here: Original Letters Patent .
On November 30, 1995, the Provincial Government issued an Order in Council granting dissolution of the water district to the Township of Spallumcheen. That Order can be viewed here: Order in Council for Dissolution .
The Township of Spallumcheen passed the Township of Spallumcheen Hankey Water Utility Specified Area Establishment Bylaw No. 1359, 1995 on December 18, 1995.

For the Hankey Local Area Service this started with an Engineering Review on the existing status of the system. This review was completed by Gentech Engineering Inc on June 24, 2016. A copy of the engineering report for Hankey is available here.
