Upcoming Geotechnical Testing on McLeod Road and Surrounding Area
The Township of Spallumcheen will be conducting geotechnical testing on McLeod Road, Upper McLeod Road, and Lockhart Drive. This project is part of the Township’s Five Year Capital Roads program, and this is the area scheduled for the next resurfacing project. Geotechnical testing is a standard step in road maintenance and improvement projects to assess the existing road conditions and ensure the new road surface is designed for long-term durability.
The Township wants to reassure residents that this work is not related to any potential changes in access, which is currently being reviewed by the Ministry of Transportation and Transit (MoTT).
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to improve the infrastructure in your area.
What is Geotechnical Testing?
Geotechnical investigations involve boring small holes in the road to collect samples of the underlying pavement and gravel. This allows engineers to analyze the condition of the road base and recommend the best resurfacing approach. Testing is essential to ensure the road structure can support traffic demands and withstand weather conditions.
