The Township of Spallumcheen advises residents in the Larkin portion of the South Local Area Service that the current Boil Water Advisory remains in effect at this time.
Crews have been actively working to resolve the issue by undertaking a comprehensive cleaning and maintenance program. This includes a full draining and cleaning of the reservoir, flushing of the water lines, and an ongoing water quality testing program.
As per Interior Health requirements, two consecutive water samples must meet or exceed the established water quality standards before the advisory can be lifted. The Township is committed to ensuring the safety of our residents and will continue to work closely with Interior Health to monitor and test the water supply.
We understand the inconvenience this may cause and appreciate the community’s patience and cooperation. Notification will be posted immediately on our website, sent out by press release and updated on Alertable once the advisory is lifted.
The Township is advising that all water users in the area, while on a boil water advisory, should if possible, use alternate water sources such as bottled water during this time or bring tap water to a full rolling boil for 1 minute before use.
