Road Development Cost Charge Bylaw 1929, 2017 as per section 94 &124 of the Community Charter

 

 

Please be advised that the Township of Spallumcheen Council will be considering the Road Development Cost Charge Bylaw 1929, 2017 for adoption at the Monday, May 7th, 2018 Regular Council meeting. Council has extended the adoption date to provide you with a three month grace period to ensure you have sufficient notice. If adopted, this bylaw will come into effect upon the date of adoption.
The Township of Spallumcheen began discussion on the possibility of introducing a Development Cost Charge Bylaw for roads in 2006.

This bylaw applies to every person who:

 

  • Obtains approval of a subdivision,

     

  • Obtains a building permit authorizing the construction, alteration or extension of a building or structure exceeding $50,000 (multi-family, industrial, commercial, agricultural, institutional), or

     

  • Obtains a building permit authorizing the construction, alteration or extension of a building that will, after construction, alteration or extension, contain fewer than four (4) self contained dwelling units and be put to no other use than the residential use in those dwelling units. (note: this clause has been included in the bylaw to meet the requirements of the Local Government Act in order to allow the Township to impose a development cost charge on building permits for buildings that contain 1, 2, or 3 residential dwelling units)

 

The Bylaw will be available for public inspection at the municipal office located at 4144 Spallumcheen Way, Spallumcheen, BC Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, except statutory holidays.  If you have any questions, please contact the Manager of Operations at   250-546-3013.
