Mobile Business License Information – Including Participating Communities

Mobile Business License Information

The Mobile Business Licence was designed to simplify business licensing and reduce costs for businesses within the Okanagan Valley. Businesses that are conducting operation in more than one (1) community (with only one (1) fixed location) may now purchase a Mobile Business Licence for an annual fee of $150.

What is a mobile business?

A mobile business is a business that performs a service in more than once of the participating communities and is mobile, which meant they provide services or do business by moving from client to client and the business does not have a storefront or location other than in their home or principal Municipality. The principal Municipality is the community which the business has its location, shop, office or home base. A mobile business includes contractors of all types such as trades people, landscaping services, janitorial services, pest control, etc.

All mobile  business are eligible for a Mobile Business Licence, except certain types of businesses such as escort agencies, body rub services and vehicles for hire such as taxies, limousines and buses. These businesses types require a separate business licence for each municipality in which they operate in.
